Founded in 1844, this sake brewery has been in business for generations in the castle town of Wakayama. Founded by the father of Meiji biologist, Minakata Kumagusu. Incorporates advanced technology with traditional sake brewing. The signature products are "Minamikata" and Wakayama fruit liqueur "Waka no Megumi". They make sake using traditional sake brewing methods that include carefully selecting sake rice and brewing their sake with water from the Kinokawa River. Wakayama is famous throughout Japan for its peaches. They make use of plum fruits grown in Minabe-cho, Tanabe-shi. Aromatic plum wine finished with ripe Nanko plums that were carefully selected. Sweet and sour mellow flavour with a lovely Ume aroma.
